Why is research important at ARCO?
Before the specialists at the Research & Development department can actually start developing, they first have to do some research. During this phase, not only do they focus their attention on materials and design, but they also investigate the technical specifications and, where necessary, any ergonomic factors. They also take into account the high standards that a product or service must meet in terms of safety and quality. Each and every one of these aspects need to be thoroughly researched to make sure that ARCO develops products that meet the specified needs or requirements.
Development at ARCO
Once the specialists at the Research & Development department have analysed the information in the research phase, they move on to the next phase: development. At ARCO, the transition from the research phase to the development phase primarily involves the production of various prototypes. These are the first test samples of a new product or service. If the prototypes meet all the set standards and requirements, and once they have been extensively tested in our simulation room, they can be put into production.
Knowledge sharing
We want to share and provide access to as much of our knowledge as possible, including that generated by our Research & Development team. We do not want to help companies by making them dependent on ARCO, but by giving them the tools to move forward and keep improving their production processes. Besides investing money in devising and developing innovations, we also invest in sharing our ideas and knowledge.
