How our conveyor belts work
ARCO has a wide range of rubber and plastic conveyor belts that can be made to customer specifications. Our sister company ACB Transportbanden & Onderdelen is an expert in producing our customized conveyor belts. The rubber and plastic conveyor belts are always delivered as a complete conveyor system and can be fitted with sidewalls, spill edges, guide strips, and cleats. In addition, rubber conveyor belts can be delivered profiled, for example with a chevron profile.
Conveyor belts with sidewalls
Adding sidewalls to conveyor belts offers a solution when there is a lack of capacity and/or limited space. When used in combination with stable-width belts and cleats, sidewalls can increase capacity and save space. This solution significantly increases the maximum transport incline. Sidewalls can be screwed to the various cleats using sidelocks. This further increases the stability and capacity of the conveyor belt.
Conveyor belts with spill edges or skirt boards
Our skirt boards and spill edges make transport over conveyors more efficient. Spillage is limited and, as a result, installations do not become clogged or damaged. Mounting skirt boards and spill edges prevents unnecessary wear and standstill of conveyor belt installations
Conveyor belts with guide strips
When conveyor belts are subjected to uneven stress or loading, they can be fitted with guide strips. These guide strips ensure stable, straight belt guidance and movement of products. An example of the type of guide strips used are V-belt guides (trapezoidal shaped). Cold vulcanization is normally used for assembly, but ARCO also has all the necessary equipment to perform hot vulcanization when required. Hot vulcanization is mainly recommended for conveyor belts that will be subjected to extreme conditions.
Conveyor belts with cleats
Cleats are fitted to the conveyor belt to prevent products from sliding off the belt when the conveyor must bridge differences in height. Cleats made of rubber are vulcanized to the belt. Rubber cleats are available in straight versions as well as versions angled at approximately 60° and 80°.
Application of Conveyor Belts
Plastic conveyor belts
Plastic conveyor belts are often used within the food industry and in distribution centers. In the agri-sector, plastic conveyor belts are often used for meat products, fruit, vegetables, fish, spices, potatoes, etc., for example, and within distribution centers it is often about moving packages. To transport grains, powders or corn vertically, elevator belts are most suitable.
