How our conveyor belts work
ARCO has a wide range of rubber and plastic conveyor belts that can be made to customer specifications. Our sister company ACB Transportbanden & Onderdelen is an expert in producing our customized conveyor belts.The rubber and plastic conveyor belts are always delivered as a complete conveyor system and can be fitted with sidewalls, spill edges, guide strips, and cleats. In addition, rubber conveyor belts can be delivered profiled, for example with a chevron profile.
Conveyor belts with sidewalls
Adding sidewalls to conveyor belts offers a solution when there is a lack of capacity and/or limited space. When used in combination with stable-width belts and cleats, sidewalls can increase capacity and save space. This solution significantly increases the maximum transport incline. Sidewalls can be screwed to the various cleats using sidelocks. This further increases the stability and capacity of the conveyor belt.
Conveyor belts with spill edges or skirt boards
Our skirt boards and spill edges make transport over conveyors more efficient. Spillage is limited and, as a result, installations do not become clogged or damaged. Mounting skirt boards and spill edges prevents unnecessary wear and standstill of conveyor belt installations
Conveyor belts with guide strips
When conveyor belts are subjected to uneven stress or loading, they can be fitted with guide strips. These guide strips ensure stable, straight belt guidance and movement of products. An example of the type of guide strips used are V-belt guides (trapezoidal shaped). Cold vulcanization is normally used for assembly, but ARCO also has all the necessary equipment to perform hot vulcanization when required. Hot vulcanization is mainly recommended for conveyor belts that will be subjected to extreme conditions.
Conveyor belts with cleats
Cleats are fitted to the conveyor belt to prevent products from sliding off the belt when the conveyor must bridge differences in height. Cleats made of rubber are vulcanized to the belt. Rubber cleats are available in straight versions as well as versions angled at approximately 60° and 80°.
Conveyor belts with bunker belts
Rubber conveyor belts are also often used as bunker belts. They are fitted in the bunkers that ARCO integrates in companies in the recycling and bulk industries. The bunker belts are produced and mounted by ARCO itself. Thanks to its in-house production department for conveyor belts, ARCO can always carry out maintenance quickly.
The conveyor belts ensure that the goods are transferred to a storage bin in the correct dosage. The bunkers, including bunker belts, can be used for a variety of bulk products, from sand to manure. The construction forms of the bunkers often depend upon the product type. ARCO builds the most appropriate bunker, including custom-made bunker belts, for each specific customer situation.
Use of our conveyor belts
Rubber Conveyor Belts
Conveyor belts made of rubber perform excellently in extreme conditions. Rubber conveyor belts are mainly used on robust installations in industrial sectors, for products such as sand, gravel, stones, wood chips, clay etc. ARCO has a wide range of conveyor belts including: flame-extinguishing belts, chevron belts, flat belts, ripstop belts, super grip belts, oil and grease-resistant tires, magnetic tires and auto-stable tires.
All rubber conveyor belts supplied by ARCO comply with the quality guidelines ISO 284, ISO 9001-2008 and DIN 22102.
Plastic Conveyor Belts
Plastic conveyor belts are often used within the food industry and in distribution centers. In the agricultural sector, plastic conveyor belts are often used for, for example, meat products, fruit, vegetables, fish, herbs, potatoes, etc. and within the distribution centers it is often about moving packages. Elevator belts are most suitable for vertical transport of grains, powders or maize.
Advantages of our conveyor belts
The use of ARCO conveyor belts offers several advantages:
- Long service life per conveyor belt;
- More labor efficiency;
- Good for ergonomics;
- Low maintenance costs;

Add-ons to our hardware solutions
As a system integrator, we always want to stay one step ahead of the competition. With products that not only provide better performance, but are also stable, safe and sustainable. This requires optimal maintenance of our installations, easy options for making upgrades and the flexibility to respond quickly and efficiently to changing market requirements. To achieve this, more is needed than good service. View the supplement to our hardware services below.
What our customers have to say
‘When you both believe in solutions, great results come naturally.’
‘ARCO has simplified our production process. Thanks to the comprehensive package of services and the customized solutions, ARCO is the ideal supplier for us.’
‘Looking back on this project, we have to say that the cooperation with ARCO was very smooth. We joined forces and implemented the best solution for our production line. Where we previously used many manual and labour-intensive processes, we now have a fully automated system that enables us to work very efficiently.’
‘Thanks to ARCO’s installation, we can do the same work with fewer operators. The system ensures a faster throughput of products and the best possible conditions for our operators. ’
‘Because we worked hand in hand with ARCO, everything was developed in consultation and the mega silo bunker perfectly suits our needs. It was an enjoyable collaboration that produced good results.’
‘We greatly appreciated ARCO’s ability to respond quickly. But not only that, they demonstrated exceptional creativity when devising the solution and the various test set-ups that they developed to test the design. The close cooperation between ARCO and ourselves facilitated the successful implementation of this particular packaging line.’
‘We know ARCO as a no-nonsense company that believes in workable and affordable solutions. This is what sets ARCO apart from other companies. They also have all the necessary knowledge in-house to create a strong and efficient line. We don’t know what the future holds, but we will certainly be happy to work together again.’
‘ARCO’s weighing line has had a major impact on our production. Our new system cuts product losses by up to 6%. It was a successful project and a rewarding collaboration.’
‘We were looking for a dosing system that could fill containers with clay and also ensure an even distribution. When emptying the containers, we are now able to deliver a good mixture of the ground clay to the factory. Thanks to ARCO’s dosing system, there are far fewer fluctuations in the clay, which in turn improves the quality.’
