ARCO has built a strong reputation over the past decades by combining mechanical engineering with software-driven system integration. That journey – from machine builder to software-led system integrator – has gradually reshaped the company’s focus. “Developing total solutions has become increasingly complex,” Wijnands explains. “Systems are larger, data-driven, and deeply interconnected. Our role today is to design and integrate complete intralogistics systems that perform now and remain adaptable for the future.”
Within that evolution, weighing and processing solutions for food markets continued to grow in scale and sophistication. “Those solutions deserve their own focus, their own roadmap and their own pace of innovation,” says Wijnands. “That is exactly why we introduced RAMTEQ.”
A dedicated company for weighing solutions
RAMTEQ operates as a specialist in complete weighing lines, including packaging, labeling and crate stacking solutions for food markets such as mushrooms, soft fruit and other fresh produce segments. “RAMTEQ is about the intelligence inside the line,” Wijnands explains. “From compact setups to multi-lane weighing lines, the focus is on precision, speed, reliability and data.”
As an independent supplier, RAMTEQ delivers stand-alone weighing solutions. When projects require a broader, integrated setup, the company works closely with ARCO to ensure the weighing line is seamlessly connected to the wider system.
The roots of RAMTEQ lie firmly within ARCO. Many of the technologies and engineering principles have been developed over years of practical experience in food processing environments. “Customers will recognize the engineering DNA,” Wijnands says. “At the same time, RAMTEQ now has the freedom to innovate faster and deeper within its own domain.”
RAMTEQ is led by Tom Koenen, Managing Director of RAMTEQ. According to Wijnands, Koenen brings a fresh perspective on the market, combined with many years of experience in the technology sector. “Tom approaches the market with an open and innovative mindset and knows how to translate technological developments into practical solutions,” Wijnands says. “That perspective is essential for the next phase of innovation within RAMTEQ.”
Innovation at line level
A key area of innovation within RAMTEQ is multi-lane weighing technology. The portfolio includes two-, three- and five-lane systems, designed to increase throughput while reducing labor dependency and product give-away. The Weighmaster XHC, RAMTEQ’s five-lane solution, plays a central role in this development.
“The five-lane system opens new possibilities for high-capacity environments,” says Wijnands. “It allows producers to scale output with fewer operators involved, while keeping the process stable and predictable.” The system is designed to ensure a smooth product flow, helping to reduce downtime and minimize pile-ups, even at higher speeds.
At the heart of RAMTEQ’s innovation is AGR, the company’s data-driven software layer within the weighing line. AGR continuously optimizes packing speed and give-away by adjusting parameters in real time. “The intelligence sits directly in the line,” Wijnands explains. “The system finds the optimal balance between capacity and yield, and at the same time provides customers with insight into packing performance.”
From line-level intelligence to integrated performance
Within the ARCO Group, RAMTEQ and ARCO each have a clearly defined role. RAMTEQ focuses on weighing and processing solutions, with innovation centered on systems, software and data at line level. ARCO supports customers with integrated end-to-end solutions, from the moment the harvested product enters the tray until it is fully packed and ready for transport, including seamless integration of the weighing line.
“In larger and more complex projects, those worlds naturally connect,” says Wijnands. “Processing lines are never isolated. They are part of a broader flow. When RAMTEQ solutions are integrated into a larger system, the data generated at line level can be combined with intralogistics data. That creates insight across the entire process, from processing and handling to internal transport and control.”
This collaboration ensures continuity for customers in food markets who have worked with ARCO over the years. “The expertise remains within the group,” Wijnands notes. “What changes is that each part now has a sharper role, which ultimately benefits customers.”
Together at the Mushroom Days 2026
The introduction of RAMTEQ will be visible at the upcoming Mushroom Days, where ARCO and RAMTEQ will present together on a shared stand. “That joint presence reflects how we work,” Wijnands explains. “RAMTEQ as the specialist in mushroom processing and weighing, and ARCO as the partner for broader system integration.”
Visitors will be able to explore RAMTEQ’s latest weighing and processing solutions, while also discussing how these lines fit into larger, integrated setups. “For us, it is a natural way to introduce RAMTEQ to the market,” says Wijnands. “It shows both the independence of the new company and the strength of the collaboration within the ARCO Group.”
Making progress together
For ARCO, the introduction of RAMTEQ marks a logical next step in a longer journey. “We believe logistics should never limit ambition,” Wijnands concludes. “By sharpening our focus and organizing our expertise where it belongs, we are better equipped to support our customers – today and in the years ahead.
